Buying valuable equipment from a country thousands of kilometres away? Possible, and worthwhile
Buying a tower crane abroad and importing it to Israel takes knowledge, experience and international contacts. RMA has been importing tower cranes since 1981. These are the six steps we go through with every crane, and what to check at each one.
The supplier should be reliable, experienced and able to support the purchase afterwards: warranty, parts and assemblies, and fault handling. It matters who owns the crane abroad (a rental company, a private contractor or a crane dealer), because that affects the maintenance history and the documentation.
Before committing, a licensed inspector examines the crane at the supplier: structure and welds, slewing ring, winch and brakes, electrical and control systems, and the reliability of the documents. Clients often join us for the inspection.
Logistics planning that brings the crane to Israel at a reasonable cost, with import paperwork that complies with the law.
Fast release from the port, including tax matters and coordination with the government offices involved, and transport to RMA’s logistics yard in Lod.
At the yard in Lod the crane undergoes a technical and mechanical inspection, assembly of its components and preparation for work.
Transport to the construction site, erection by a certified crew and inspection by a certified inspector before work begins.
